Lennie Kesl, RIP, 1926-2012

It’s difficult to imagine Gainesville without Lennie Kesl. His art and his presence have been a foundation in the broader  identity of the city in the music and art worlds. His ever-present enthusiasm and joyful personality were inspiring to say the least, and propelled people to live, thrive and create in the community. His contributions as a person, artist, singer and his whole presence in Gainesville  may be felt even more powerfully with our loss of his physical presence.

At Grow Radio we’ll be playing his music this week in remembrance of the man we are so grateful to have had as  a defining part of our community. There will never be another like Lennie.
